Hey there!

I’m Rosie, a Canadian-Ghanaian Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, and Foodie! Regardless of where I am, I focus on making health and wellness more accessible, inclusive, and easy to understand. The Rosie Nutritionist was created to be used as a tool to share information on food, nutrition, health, for the busy professional looking to prioritize their health and wellness.

My Philosophy

I look at health holistically. This means that you will find uncomplicated recommendations and information on how to improve your health on a day to day basis. You will find easy and affordable recipes, lifestyle tips, and evidenced based articles on wellness and nutrition. I always say, “food is more than the nutrients it provides”, that means I understand that life is about balance and enjoying the foods you love is a big part of wellness. My goal is to remind you to do the best you can, wherever you are at, take the control and learn sustainable strategies to help you achieve your goals.

What is a registered dietitian?

A Registered Dietitian is a human nutrition expert. Dietitians helps individuals and groups navigate the complex world of nutrition and diet depending on individual needs. Dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals, educators, and innovators. Dietitians are leaders in translating scientific nutrition information into easy to understand plain language, without any extra fluff. More importantly, dietitians are there to support you in better understanding food, improving your relationship with food, and enjoying the food you consume!

What is my work experience?

As a Registered Dietitian in Ontario, I have worked in Public Health providing nutrition education to newcomers, I’ve worked as a clinical dietitian in an outpatient diabetes education program, and additionally I work as in private practice providing nutrition counselling with clients experiencing various nutrition-related health condition including eating disorders, obesity, and weight loss/gain concerns. I have also worked closely with clients transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle, utilizing my lived experiences having been a vegetarian for ten years. I often work closely with young women of colour providing support on diverse aspects on health and nutrition, food and mood, and make referrals as needed.
